Caffeine

What helps start your day? Is it coffee or a coke? Does that burst of caffeine running through your body help give you energy?
Well maybe I should have tried something to jump start my day in a positive direction. So it all began early this morning after I dropped my nephew off at daycare. I got back to my sister's house and quickly got dressed to go to my cookbook signing. I loaded up my vehicle with my purse and makeup bag then started my vehicle to warm it up. Before I ran back inside to grab a few more things, I pressed the "unlock" or so I thought button. This is where my day took a turn for the worst. I had accidently pressed the lock button. Ahh! I wanted to pull my hair out! So it gets worst because my phone was in my vehicle and there is no one that I could get to help me. The only thought that came to my mind was that I could go to the front gate at the base (my sister and her husband live on an army base) and get help. As I am waiting for the base's cop to arrive, I Tango my younger sister. Tango is awesome especially if you don't have your phone. After dreadfully waiting for what seemed forever, the cop finally showed up. Did I mention that my signing is in 30 minutes. The Lord was watching over me because the cop was able to open my vehicle and I was on my way.

Have you ever had a day like this? There is a song by Francesca Battestelli called This Is The Stuff.
http://www.francescamusic.com/songs/stuff
Listen to this song, the lyrics are really good! "I lost my keys in the great unknown and call me please because i can not find my phone....This is the stuff that drives me crazy, this is the stuff that has been getting to me lately, in the middle of my little mess, I forget how much I am blessed...."

Music helps get me in a good mood. I think this would be a good start to my day. When I used to commute to school, I would listen to KLOVE, a Christian radio station, and it would really start my day off right.

If coffee is your quick fix for jump starting your day, then I have the thing for you. My gift today is a  $15 Starbucks gift card.

  3. I lock my keys in my car regularly. My saint of a husband has driven over an hour just to unlock my car. But today was about the dentist for me. I avoid the dentist at all cost, but broke a tooth and had no choice. Two anxiety pills, two imodium, sobbing in the waiting room....but a very patient staff and dentist got me through it. I'm wrung out. Tomorrow will start with Starbucks! Wendyandjim99@gmail.com

  4. Yes, I have had many days like this but the first one that comes to mind is when I locked my keys in the car while it was running, and I had an interview downtown. Luckily, my neighbor was able to open the door for me and I made it on time....and I ended up getting the job!

  5. Some advice I was given, which I obviously don't always folks, but might help...only lock your door with your key fob. Don't use the button on the door. Also, you can get a key made, I believe its called a slave...it won't start the car because it doesn't have a chip. But it will open the door. Keep several around!! Wendyandjim99@gmail.com

  6. Oh Whitney I cannot tell you how many of these days I have had in my lifetime. It is a standing joke with my friends about every new car I get does it have power locks and how many times in the year will I lock the keys in it. I sometimes have coffee to start my day (or Tea) but not always. But I did have a job where I was right across the street from a Dunkin Donuts and when I got that mid-afternoon slump I would head on over and get me a dbl shot of expresso and I was good to go for the next 4-5 hrs.
Sorry for your Bad day and I also love to listen to Francesca's song when having a bad day when I put it on it reminds me he cares but he will also make it better if I just acknowledge him (and the beat of the song helps also).
Hope tomorow goes better for ya and remember you are never alone and you do have someone who cares!!!

  7. Yes Wendy you are right and trust me I have many slave (Keys) and leave them at the places I visit most in the family. It saves the embarassment of calling for a locksmith or pop a lock........hehehhe

  8. I love Francesca Battestelli!!! And I too love Klove!!! "I got a new appreciation, it's not the end of the world, whooowoowo." I always have a morning that I wish coffee did help. I stay away from soda, so early in the morning. So I am a single mother of a beautiful 15 month old girl and as I went to work I had prepared to take her to an appointment, and If I was late it would mess things up for me. As I was driving a little fast, I got pulled over and got a fine, well I paid the fine and all and then when I finally arrived at the appointment I was 10 mins late. well I missed the appointment and had to reschedule. So not only did I miss this very important appointment, miss whole day of pay (in which I really needed) but I got a huge fine, and to tip the bucket, I found out that the car inc that I tough was coming out of my bank account, my ex-husband had cancelled the inc. So I ended up losing my licence or 3 months and have had it tough. But I try to always see the good in things. I know God has my back, and I do recall asking him to give me patience. So I'm taking it that, that was a moment of testing my faith to see if I could handle having more faith. So this is the stuff, is a bio of my real life. lol BTW I fell in love with your whole personality on Masterchef. I loved you the moment you entered the room and said I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee!!! A Classic!!! Well God bless you sweetie and I hope all goes well for you!!! ta ta. - Sarah & Lillian (my daughter)

  9. Yes, I always forget to bring my house keys and get locked out all the time. It took me a long time to learn. I also always lose things too. Hope your day goes better.

  12. I had a day like that. First, locked keys in the car. Second, the cop that I did see nearby was just leaving as I was coming near him. I was pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Had to take a rock to the driver side window...

  13. I didn't "fully" turn off my car and the battery died...had to call my brother and he got a ticket while driving "because of me" and it was too long a day!
I love and listen to KLOVE all the time. God does truly use them. llukomsky@yahoo.com

  14. Man did I have one of those days yesterday! I am having foot surgery next week and have to have a physical done for it. I made an appointment 2 months ago, and yesterday when it was finally time for the appointment, I arrived and was immediately told that my form might not be able to be filled out because they were too busy. After waiting around for 45 minutes I was told to come back another day because there was no way it was going to get done. Later that day I was on my way home from school and a car pulled out in front of me without enough time to stop. Needless to say I hit the guy, had to wait around for an hour for a cop, and now have a $2,000 repair bill for my car. (thankfully no one was injured!) What a day it was!

  18. before leaving for college, i usually start my day with Coldcoffee or a glass of milk+2 oreos
unlike this particular day, when i was in a hurry!!
with me it happened around 2 weeks ago..
It was my friend's birthday and we all decided to give her a lovely surprise where i was given the responsibility to bring the cake. Almost afternoon, i get in my car, which was new and we bought it a month ago,i bring my bag and my phone with me in the car and stop by the bakery and buy the cake and keep it on the left front seat. I was heading towards her house and I DON'T KNOW WHY I SUDDENLY CRAVED FOR A CHOCOLATE!! so i get out of the car to buy a white chocolate for myself and yes, i leave the car keys inside the car.
My phone and bag were inside too. I did not know what to do. After 10 minutes i could see from the window of my car, call after call from my friends!!
Like a fool i was standing outside my car seeing the phone light go on after every 5 minutes!! one call after the other, and ofcourse- the CAKE !! it began to melt!
I could decide to either go back home and get the duplicate key but that would mean that i waste more time and not make it to my friend's birthday.
with no money at all, i could neither call my parents and friends, nor take a cab!
I had to walk to one of my family friend's house, borrow some money and bought a new cake and took the cab to my friend's house (birthday girl). AFTER KNOWING EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED, THE EXPRESSION ON HER FACE WAS JUST AWESOME. After few minutes, a friend dropped my back to my house and we went with the duplicate key to my car.
we reached my car only to find out that the cake had melted by then and had spoiled the brand new seats of my new car!!
I did get a harsh one from my parents but now i laugh whenever i think about it :D

  19. Yes! Definetely! So many times a day I get sooo stressed out over just the little things, my mom as well. Like when the bread sticks to the pan and doesn't come out. That drives her CRAZY!! It's so nice to just relax and know that God is in control.

So glad to have you as a sister in Christ!!
